Not sure who it was that mentioned the Dawes sale this month
but I just ordered a super galaxy

and saved 20%.

Quite a bit of dosh on a bike that expensive.
(I Know ...I know ! I should have bought one a couple of years ago when they
were much cheaper )

But think what they might be the year after next when the pound is worth
another 20 % less !

Anyway thanks for pointing out the sale
cant wait for the old girl to arrive

According to the spec the saddle on the 2009 bike is a "Selle Italia FLX Eleganza leather stitched

Im just hoping I dont have to have it surgically removed after the first ride.

if you go to the dawes website........there are reductions off many bikes
during october.

You buy online and the bike can be delivered to a local dawes dealer
at no cost.

Some very good savings.

I had a look at the Ti versions of the Sportif and the Ultra and thought it wasn't a lot of spec for the money. The 20% off merely makes these seem over priced as opposed to ludicrous. But the Sportif Elite or Ultra Galaxy in 853 steel looks like not a bad price at £1360. Though I think you get more bang for your buck with other brands at those prices.

Buying an 853 or 531 frame 20% off, purchasing an end of season Ultegra or XT groupset at sale price and building the bike oneself seemed attractive to me. Swapping over wheels is not a prob and I'm sure I have a saddle, seatpost, stem and bars knocking around. SKS mudguards £20 and a Madison rack for £25.
