Dynamo ‘Training’ - means I’ve got 1/2 the total points I got last year - in this June alone.

And one of those was this Morning. Must be my 100th Sunrise of the year I shouldn’t wonder…….

About the same miles as the Dynamo - on this Milestone at Beccles:

Another really enjoyable stretch of the legs. I’m loving life on 2-wheels right now 😁

I only took up cycling longer distances in my fifties , I remember hearing about the Dunwich Dynamo when I was younger and never thought I would ever be cycling 100 miles in one ride!

Did you enjoy it ? The food stops, the night riding, the atmosphere, the fact it’s a ride not a race make me think this is a little ‘unique’ perhaps……

Sorry I didn't mean did the Dynamo, but have done other 100mile rides, the Ride to the Sun most recently - they are usually good fun, sociable and good atmosphere (much like many sportives). Take it easy in the 1st half and you will be fine for the rest of it. I find short stops every 20miles or so give your bum a bit of a rest from the saddle, even for a few minutes.

Another top tip ! Shall we now call this tactic:

“Regular (Combined) food and buttock-breaks” ?

Sounds a winning formula to me 😁

28th June: 60.64 miles - Day 1: Land's End to St. Austell. Yes, Phil will castigate me for not doing the extra one and a half miles, but this was tiring enough as it is! Plus the route was chosen for me by the company
I had noticed that distance 😤 on your Strava ,I think I'm going soft considering what your doing I let this one slide 😁

The first records I kept (from 2012) tell me that I was doing this distance in just under two hours - and, from what I can remember, it didn't feel like I was pushing at all. And now? Age is certainly taking its toll: five minutes short of three hours. ^_^ As if to compensate, I hurried inside when I got home, like I was an excited teenager, hoping I would be first to post this month. I may have secretly punched the air.

The sky at Felixstowe was a tad like The Simpsons.

I’m having a poor year on the bike and June, in particular, was a shocker. My worst June (only 712km cycled) since I started keeping complete records back in 2017.

However, July has started brightly with a shade over 203km cycled in the first 4 days of the month. Perhaps there’s still hope that I can salvage something out of 2026.

I’ve got my Annual Metric Eddington (AME) up to 46km (46 rides/daily ride totals over 46km this year). Getting the AME over 50km shouldn’t be too hard – I currently need another 19 rides/daily ride totals over 50km: target is 30 September so slightly less than two a week would do. Whether I’ll get my AME up to 55km by the end of the year is another matter – some cooler weather would make such a difference and unfortunately there’s none in the forecast at the moment.

Wow !

Conversely: I did almost exactly 500 miles / 812km and am REALLY chuffed. I suspect it’s easily my highest mileage month ever 🏅

I have other hobbies I participated in; a job i put 240 hours into last month also. Oh and me and the dog walked 140 miles according to Strava 🐾😁 So “squeezing in” nearly 40 hours on the bike was good.

I’m kicking off my July CC Challenge - with a Sunday Social ride tomorrow. In our Group which is now up to 6 ‘Members’ 👍
