I got me tickets to see Rush next year. Im going to worship at the altar of the Progfather, the greatest bassist that ever lived - Geddy Lee.

I am surprised that nobody has mentioned Angine de Poitrine yet, since they are blowing up all over YouTube...
Very odd, but, er... interesting?!!
Microtonal guitar/bass, looper, skilled musicians...
I wouldn't listen to them for pleasure but they have some challenging ideas/techniques.
Ah... I searched for 'angine' but nobody mentioned them by name.

Some advice, please,
I can't play bass or guitar very well at all - a few notes if I follow some simple tabs. I will never be much good - I don't put in the practice. But I do like having a bass - a cheap but serviceable one.
I have a big birthday coming up and, like many people, have everything I want or need, but getting a lot of pressure to decide on a big gift to mark the occasion. I decided to get a new bass - a Fender Player II Precision bass in sunburst. So off we trotted to the guitar shop, I tried it out, and loved it. SWMBO was pushing me to get a Music Man Stingray. It was even nicer, but more than 3x the price at £3k. I could not justify such an expense for something that I will pick up occasionally.
So..... I'd like to learn to play better. One website which has been suggested is BassBuzz and the Beginner to Badass course. It's probably in the price range of my children if they get together. But I hate money being spent on stuff which isn't any good. Has anyone tried this course or seen anything about it? The YouTube videos I've seen are engaging and helpful, but they are not the full course.
