A big fan of the local buses here, arms length council owned Lothian Regional Transport, always room for improvement but generally a terrific service. Also hearing great things about Ember for the long distance routes, haven’t tried them yet. And all for free on my over-60 bus pass

I used two coaches this morning both flixbus.

First a yontung thing very noisy sitting over the back axle.

The an Israr much more refined despite having the same daf and zf drivetrain. I bet one had hydraulic engine mounts and the other didn't?

Mrs D qualifies for a disabled bus pass, although the buggers dont half make you jump through hoops to get it. Probably a nasty and deliberate tactic to keep the numbers down.

If we're going into town and were not in a hurry we'll take the bus, although our local council are one of the few that charge full whack for carers so I have to get my change purse out every time.

I like the idea of them, and my son when about 3yo used to like riding on them so we'd often hope for a double-decker but it rarely came, only singles. I would use them a lot more if they actually turned up.

I do like old 50s buses though. Like any vehicle really, they look good when restored but still old. There is something nice about the rear door with a pole
