Doncaster Road/A638 (the A1 is joined at 'Red House', from here. which was the name of a coaching inn, now a farm)
(between South Elmsall & Hampole)
It's actually indicating 'Newark-on-Trent', & still within the Wakefield area, the boundary to Doncaster is still half-a-mile away!
