The fact there are only thre doesn't make the lowest of those three (by some way) into a "major European trophy".

It is only lower level leagues plus those eliminated from the Europa league playoffs who compete for it.

We all know it’s status as the third cup.
It did make me laugh last night that the commentators kept saying that Chelsea are the first team to win all 3 European trophies. But that ignores the fact that the really good teams dont ever enter this one.
but if you are in the competition you might as well try to win it. And Chelsea played their reserves for most of the group stages. They even played a 16 year old.
Last night they had no player older than 27.

I absolutely agree it is worth trying to win once you are in it. But that still really doesn't make it a "major" trophy.

Most clubs win nothing. Ever.

True. But irrelevant. I'm not suggesting any team in it shouldn't try to win it.

I'd suggest the Conference league is roughly the European equivalent of the FA Trophy competition in English football.

Is it just me that will find it funny if PSG win the CL the year after Mbappe leaves to go glory hunting?

Just watched the highlights. Some of the most incredible football I have ever seen. The only comparison in recent times would be Barca at their best.

Well done Oldham Athletic on their first promotion in 34 years!! This is far better from an Accrington Stanley point of view as playing 25 odd miles away Oldham on a Saturday afternoon is far more attractive than playing 263 miles away Southend on a wet Tuesday night!! :okay: I listened to the match on BBC Radio Manchester. Excellent coverage and it sounded a far better match than that Champions League, one sided bore last night!!:tired:
