All I can think is that Nuno must seriously clash with the chairmen/owners of clubs as the fans always seem on side with him (perhaps not Spurs?) and his teams play attractive football. Getting Wolves and Forest into Europe is no mean feat either.

Ange comes across as relentlessly negative and confrontational, so I can't see this ending well.

I think Postecoglou started off okay temperament wise but poor results and intense media scrutiny got to him badly, and if you can't take criticism, you should definitely avoid being a PL manager! Tactically he seemed very naive at Spurs, if you are one dimensional every team in the prem will work you out eventually. He doesn't strike me as someone who will change his approach at Forest.

And to be fair, I think I said early last season, once clubs work out Nunos Forests tactics, which you could equally say were fairly predictable/one dimensional, they'd get found out...which to a degree, they did..

Another complication for Postecogolu, Forest have just spent the war chest on players that may well not suit his style...so he may well be on the back foot from the start.

Given Nunos popularity, Ange could find himself under fire from the fans really quickly if results go poorly...quickly.

Ange has a history of being promising in the first year, delivering some success in the second year, and not lasting three years.
As I recall, could be wrong.

A very encouraging England performance last night . . . Saka, Bellingham and Cole all absent so will Tuchel start them when fit or stick with last night's team?

To be fair, I was 50/50 on Tuchel. I know it is only 1 good performance following a lot of fairly average dross but hopefully it signals a bit of a turning point. I think he'll bring them back but harsh to change a team that has performed so well. At least we have what looks to be a very strong squad overall.

I think I was, probably still am, of the same view regarding Tuchel and the apparent depth of squad that England seem to have. Part of me wants to see the "best" we have (Bellingham, Saka, Palmer etc) running out but I don't want us to be back in the Sven, Capello, or, God help us, McLaren, era where the press seemed to pick the team . . .

40th Anniversary tour . 6 of us on it yesterday.

Didn't do it in the chronological order.
Route worked better starting in Edinburgh at Hibs ground.

Across the Forth to Dunfermline via the Forth road bridge. Great views of the magnificent railway bridge.

Dunfermline back to Glasgow on the old railway path to Clackmannan.
11 miles straight and flat.

Over the Clackmannan bridge, the Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel and canal into Glasgow and some stinking weather.
Hampden, then finished at his statue outside Celtic Park.

Great day despite the weather

Son and.myself talked about this. You do wonder if Marinakis brought in Edu because he knew the squad needed serious strengthening. Add Nunos tactics of rock solid defence then counter attack worked well over a domestic season where things average out...but in a knockout competition, that's not perhaps going to get ypu through, you need to win games so surely more a more attacking tyke of football is required ?
So perhaps Nunos days were always numbered once they got into Europe.
