*I forget what the soccer version was called!
Home internationals,or in the early 60's British Home Championships, stopped about middle 80's due to violence from the crowds,Scotland v England being the crunch game,Scotland had a wonderful Wembley victory in 1967 none year after England won the World Cup my memory is a 9-3 win for England at Wembley the poor Frank Haffet having a nightmare Greaves scored three.

A friendly. I think since the 6 Nations* ended (1984?) there's been around 10 matches that mattered in 40 years. Well, mattered to England, anyway ...

*I forget what the soccer version was called!

Commentary is commentary whether it is a friendly or not.
My commentary on this is that you are just being obtuse.

Just on injury / added time. In the Wales match we had four goals scored in each half plus substitutions and people pretending to have been shot (sorry injured) and we had no added time in either half.

The first half ended dead on 45 minutes the second half on 89 minutes.

To be fair it was one of the few games I would have welcomed a few more minutes!

Firstly: it's all about opinions but if you read the post match comments from the players and the coach, they're in no doubt that they fell beneath the standard required against Greece.
Secondly: where did I deride the Greeks?
Thirdly: what have the English got to do with this.
Alexa: remind me why I don't do football fora?

If I've misrepresented or misunderstood your comments I apologise.

Today marks the 150th anniversary of the formation of my club, Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

Arte et labore

I remember Rover's 100th 'birthday'. They played a friendly against then First Division Coventry City. I have an end of match, pitch signed Ken Beamish and Mick Heaton signed programme here in my flat somewhere. When as a 14 year old, I ran with many others onto the pitch to get some autographs. I can't remember the score though. Rovers must've been in the Second Division then, after winning promotion in the 1974/75 season.
