At least twice a year shut off and open the water stop cock (under your sink) so if you need to shut the water off it’s free to move and quickly.

If i am cooking a meal such as a chilli, curry, some sort of stew or soup, I batch cook between 6-10 portions and then freeze the portions. Instant ready meals and it’s not cost me 6-10 times the electric cost to cook them.
I use the same cleaner for just about everything except for polish. I still have tins of proper wax polish left over from a garage sale decades ago. I aim to leave some in my will. Totally worth the box space when moving

I hoover twice a week, properly. I loathe hoovering so have non sheddy dogs with no undercoat. Smooth coated Lurchers. Of course they shed a bit but not on the scale of a GSD or collie type dog. They are as near as hypoallergenic as they get and don’t mess with my asthma.

Some surgical spirit has additives such as camphor and ASA., which is why some smell nice and are marketed for medicinal use.

store them in the fridge so they crumble nicely too.

Old cash-cards are great for scraping non-stick pans.

Drop a dishwasher tablet in the bog and leave it overnight. A cheap and effective method of removing grime and limescale without resorting to expensive cleaning product, and no noxious gases.

WD-40 is amazing for getting black oil stains out of carpets…

Wd40 also good for getting bird poop off the car. Some seagull had presumably eaten 19 curries and dumped on my car, which dried, nothing would even soften it until wd soaked overnight and next day it fell off in the rain. Probably not good for paintwork but less damaging than bird poop
