@redfalo - I don't know what magic Stu and TC have wreaked* to be able to see and "like" your posts, but I'm guessing that you've linked straight to google photos files. All I'm seeing is lots of little grey "no entry" signs:

I've never been able to link on here to files stored on google photos.

*Of course, it might just be extremely strong psychedelics or active imaginations.

Couldn't in default browser (brave).
loaded this thread in chrome instead, still couldn't. Attempted to open individual pic in new window in chrome via right click, this prompted a google log in for the new window, so logged in and still couldn't.
Gave up.

I'm logged in on this phone and the peecee I used this morning. I can't see them.

There may be special circumstances in which hotlinking to google photos works, but the basic rule is that it doesn't.

I should probably update here: After several weeks of enforced rest and stretches, I'm now at a point where I can walk a couple of kilometres without too much trouble (which is about as much as I can rely on knees-wise anyway), and after building up to an hour of pedalling on the turbo trainer, I've finally ventured outside on an actual bicycle again. So good to be back onna bike, even if someone has been mucking with the thermostat.

Belated sad news for those who were on the tour. You'll all remember the very nice supermarket manager Herr Röder in Dormagen, who spotted a promotional opportunity and plied us all with free bottled water. Auntie Helen mentioned Dormagen in her tour blog, and I thought of him....found out he died in May last year, having suffered Polyneuropathy for many years. A much loved local figure who did a lot of work for charity.

Very sad. Is there somewhere we can express our thoughts to the shop or his family? Certainly he was the right man in the right place at the right time. We were v hot and gasping.
