My friend has given me a huge box of assorted Lego, mostly Lego Friends. I’ve just about finished sorting it. It used to belong to her daughter. There’s all sorts of useful stuff in there.
I will be building all sorts of stuff now, from scratch. Rumour Has it that I will be getting a Lego train set from Santa.
I can build something to go with it.

Has anyone had any nice Lego sets for Christmas? I’ve had two Friends sets, a Lego cargo train and a Christmas train. I’ve also got some extra track.
The cargo train has been whizzing around the lounge floor.

We’ve had a Lego Christmas at our place. I gave my eldest son Lego Chopper, my youngest son Lego Jaws set (from China as it wasn’t available here) and I received the Lego Bouguet of wild flowers. Were all going to be busy.

No Lego build over Christmas but the various lit ones added to the decorations akthough the tree meant the lighthouse had to be relocated behind the TV. Its case did allow for a new location atop for a somewhat elderly wooden robins bird house decoration

I’ve never built Lego flowers this is my first time. Would you recommend me getting Mek?

Still working my way through the Lego.Technic Scania lorry with pneumatic JCB. Daughter got me the Lego Monster Book of Monsters which looks like a fun build. She intends to steal it once built :-)

Minerals set joined together by using a plate instead of tiles on the exposed rear parts of the centre part. That then allowed the Light my Bricks Docks to be located on the rear of the centre part and linked by a 5cm cable. Panels used to act as an cable cover. Full extent of those not neccessary but done for visual symmetry.

I followed formula 1 a lot in the late eighties and nineties and I've always thought the Williams FW14b was one of the fantastic looking cars from that era. I've been wanting to get this set for a little while now and whilst it is a really good representation of the car, it does have its flaws.

Now understandably the livery Lego provides is not the same as that which the car raced with, advertising cigarettes and alcohol is not really a great idea for what is after all, a toy company! So I've ordered a sticker sheet online which more accurately reflects the livery these cars raced in.

As well as the livery though, the bigger issue is the shaping of the car, now it is Lego so it's never going to be perfect, but it's still off. The engine cover is too short and the wing to far forward amongst other issues. Thankfully there are clever folk out there who have worked out how to modify this and on Rebrickable there are free instructions from a user called Bento Brick to do so. Here are two pictures from that mod, that illustrate the differences between the official Lego set and the modified version.

So now I've built the set the official way for curiosity's sake, it's now going to be torn completely apart and rebuilt with more accurate dimensions and livery. Back in a week or two when I'm done.

Having put the phone box together decided to try Temu for a case given they are half the cost. Neatly cut clear parts were slightly thin but strong enough to support the cat on top. They are held together with plastic parts of which numerous spares were provided but I had no breakages. Actually preferred them to the normal screw assembly as no fears of a slipping screwdriver marking a clear part.

Less clever was the lighting set from Temu which was supplied with three LEDs having leads half the length it should be. Asked for them to be replaced and instead of sending the LEDs they are apparently sending the complete set! Very Game of Bricks etc like.

Finally scummed this evening and ordered Endurance having received a nice lump of back pay. Did it through Hot deals UK so expecting a £60 gift voucher later this year

I’ve just been building a fire engine out of the big Lego parts box. I ordered some missing parts from Brick Owl. I now have a fire engine, an ambulance and a police car in my collection.
I had some small formula 1 cars for my birthday. Sadly, the yellow taxi was out of stock, so I bought a Lego city digger.
