I've taken some cracking shots with me Moto, and love the way it means I always have a damn good camera at my fingertips...but when I came across Mr spider making a meal of Mr wasp, the inability to focus meant it all came out rubbish:

Had to come & get my ancient Nikon D40 to get the pic:

I remember as a child my dad bringing home a phonograph. One with those cylindrical records. Music and sound was terrible and me and my brother used to use the records as targets, smashing most of them and the sound trumpet made a great rocket launcher around bonfire night.

Might be worth something now, but then it was just junk.

But I doubt if the OP was referring to one of these.

Not sure if this is going to help you as I've no idea what a 'Moto' is but, on the iPhone, if you press and hold the screen in camera mode an AE/AF Lock comes on and then it's just a case of physically moving the phone in and out to get a sharp focus on the intended object. I've used this a few times when the phone has failed to focus on the correct object.

18 months I've had this phone...

Still not on a par with the ol' Nikon, but not bad a tall a tall.

Thanks!

e.

But not very much!

I sold an Edison Amberola 7 with a few cylinders to a dealer 25+years ago for £300 - it would be much the same price now.

Interesting that people have mis-read this as 'phonograph'. On first glance I thought it said 'Mobile pornography' lol. That probably says more about me than this thread though ;)

Some years.....in a public meeting (I was actually there).....a young girl I knew was explaining that in the early years a certain religious group would go "door to door" with a portable record player with bible messages. She got mixed up and said "they would go "door to door" with pornographic records.
Lots of giggling and her with a look of "what, what have I said".

I've mis-spoken in meetings and made a prat of myself at work more than once. Luckily I work in an environment where little slip ups are quickly forgotten and never mentioned again..............................................................NOT!

The old D40 is an excellent camera, even though it must be 13 years old now. Might only be 6.1mps, but it has a CCD sensor, which in my opinion gives better images.

I've two D50's, they might be old but I won't part with them. For prints up to say 11x14 they are excellent and you can use Nikons version of RAW to improve your images.

Ha ha - almost as bad as the time that I stood at the front of a queue at an ice cream van and asked the handsome young Italian guy for a '69', resulting in lots of giggling parents behind me with their kids asking what was so funny!

...or the time I briefed a shift handover that we'd finished a repair but the surface finish still needed to be restored. I then went on, in front of a room of about 50-60 people to state that it was OK because Karen (the shift controller) had the painters in! I was very naive at the time

My mobile phone camera is excellent! On an earlier version of it, I had 3 photos exhibited in a local photography exhibition, one of which someone bought!!!!!!
