My best mate is also running tomorrow (his first!) in aid of Barnardos and I hope we can see his progress on the app as I think the chance of spotting him on TV will be close to zero!!

If he did his usual trick, he'll have started as close to the back as he can

I 'lanterne-rouged' a trail-marathon a while ago, & he let everyone go, including the walker at the back

She was even out of sight before he set off

I'd not even got to the turn-around for the half-marathon, & he'd been to the far-turn, & had come back!!
He stopped for a drink, encouraged Anasasia (walker), had to avoid the fishermen/dog-walkrs/cyclists/recreational runners/pushchairs/prams/etc.... & still came first in 2.44:03
Second place at that race was 3.17:17

39,405 finishers - if correct (@ 21:00)

Terry Forrest; 204th @ 02:37:06 (18-39)

Simon Newton; 610th @ 02:46:24 (18-39)

Well, she did it even though she hit The Wall at 8 miles, she got herself through it!

At 23 miles and still smiling

Saw a guy outside Hampton Wick station in shorts with no shoes and a medal around his neck. Shouted congrats. Double to Lizzi.

When I stated 'within a minute of each other', I was going on information seen on a Club-members FaceBook page, I must have misread it, & it was earlier in the run?

Last year's marathon,I managed 3hrs,9 mins and 42 secs. But yesterday, there was a good film on another channel,so I turned over and watched that instead
