Well, here goes.
The Barker Matt 2 ( above ) are nice but in my opinion I prefer the Barker Keaton.
The Matt 2 look smart, in a more formal way whereas the Keaton are making a statement.
The Keaton are shouting “I’m being worn on the feet of a country gentleman“.

OK, how about these, instead of the Keaton and the aubergine brogues?🤔 I'm thinking those aubergine ones could be too wide in their G width. As @Hover Fly stated, I've had G width shoes before that didn't look too good. My thoughts are, with the below being in 'Rosewood', they have a bit of the Keaton and the Aubergine brogue in them.🤔

I vaguely remember seeing (on this thread?) a photo of your shoes which had indications of being too wide, creases right across, so perhaps wide shoes arn't your thing.

Yes, they were made by a company called Jones. They are, because I still have them but don't wear them, in a dark brown grained leather. They fitted OK, but that crease gradually developed, probably due to their width.🤔

I have these Barkers which I got half price but I can’t remember the name of the shop. I can’t see them in Barkers current line up

I'm going to dig those shoes out later and send a photo of that crease.😉

I've found a photo of them, taken in May 2021, a few months after I bought them. I think that crease on the left foot became more prominent later, after more months of wear. Well it's not really a crease, more a dimple I'd say. I remember wearing them once in the rain and a little pool of water formed in that dimple as I stood still for a while.😏

And here's me desperately hoping some of my nice shoes will wear out, I've got far too many. My entire wardrobe needs downsizing really but my clothes keep lasting. I did just throw away a shirt which I think I got for my 30th birthday?

Anybody a small slim fit in jackets by any chance? I seem to have expanded...

I have some Barker shoes, similar to those, bought from the retro clothing shop I work in a few years ago. Like yours seem to have, they have a polished affect, which saves on polishing them, but if you like polishing shoes like I do, it's quite frustrating that your efforts won't make any difference to how they look.

How about monkey boots, have any of you ever owned a pair, or still do?🤔 I think I'm too old for them, but I do remember them being quite popular with girls in the early to mid 1970's, with boys wearing Doc Marten boots. The below are supposed to be the best monkey boots out there.

I’m sorry they are not Monkey boots. Doc Martins didn’t make them and they had thinner sole.
Also they were worn by Skinhead girls.🧑‍🦲

Mmm, those ox-blood ones I linked are tempting, but are they me, as I often ask? I think the answer is no, they aren't you, but we'll see what others think.🤔

I think the burgundy ones look a bit 'dressier', if you can have 'dressy' monkey boots.

If I'm not mistaken Solovair is where Doc Martens were made until the name and production were moved abroad, so they're basically original Doc's under a new name
Edit: Doc's Bovva Boots were banned at our school, now they're £179 a pair!
