The shoes feel very well made, but at a cost as they are so stiff! They are going to take some breaking in! 🙄

I don't normally like loafers, and have been tongue-in-cheek rather scathing about them on here, but those do look rather smart, albeit not for me. Loakes made in Northampton ranges are incredible value in my view and are at least as good as the much dearer Cheaney for example. Granted Crockett's are nicer still but I can't really say they are twice as nice despite being at least twice as expensive

Been getting some good stuff at the local Charity shops; vintage Levi denim jacket an older Energie one - Levi, Paul Smith and Diesel Jeans.
Various shirts by Paul Smith ,Jaeger, Hammond &Co(the Patrick Grant relaunch for Debenhams) ,Abercrombie and Fitch and American Eagle.
Best two 'hauls' though have been a Corridor heavy shirt and Iron Heart Japanese selvedge jeans which are still a bit tight to get on!

Other half has snagged some good stuff so including the nicely worn in Meindel walking boots with repairable Vibram soles for £10.

Apart from underwear and the odd specific item will be getting as much as possible from the chazzers.

I've just tried them on, expecting a long length/easy reach shoehorn struggle, but I'm pleased to say they went on quite easily. In fact they feel like 10.5, not 9.5 as they do have a bit of movement when walking in them. Which if it annoys me can be remedied by a pair of Loake leather insoles I have somewhere, in a pair of my shoes. I'm tempted now to wear them tomorrow evening for my school reunion event. Maybe it'd be best not to as the leather soles could be a problem if it's a bit frosty underfoot. Plus they'll be uncomfortable due to their new shoe stiffness, so it's probably best to leave them till the warmer/drier weather.

So that is where your avatar came from 🤣

Nope, I drew that.

The laces are from Stonewall.

As for wearing them in the wet, wouldn't necessarily recommend that, but they've been coated in a version of Nikwax spray which helps.

I remembered after posting about the loafers going on quite easy that the vamp of the shoes is shorter/lesser than other loafers I have, so there's a bigger gap to get your feet into the shoes.😉
