On about the world cup, look at the state of this lot! 🙄 I remember the days of suits with shirts and ties, or blazers and slacks with ties and collars! 🧐👎

Why has this thread slipped onto page two?
Come on Accy, it must be at least a week now since you last bought anything. 😂
I bought a boater from the retro clothing shop I work in today. It's quite old and slightly tatty, so the owner let me have it for £15, instead of the asking price of £25.🧐

The thing is, I am now 'into' boater hats, so I have my eye on these two.

Funnily enough I was admiring a fellow parish councillors Panama hat the other day and he says he has anither I can have. Lovely for this sortmof weather.
Don't wear them in strong sunshine, unless they are bleached white, or 'natural straw'! I know it sounds daft to tell someone not to wear a Panama hat in strong sunshine which they are obviously intended for, but I have a 'tobacco' in colour one. The inside is still the same colour, but the outside is almost beige due to sub bleaching.🙄
If you buy a genuine one made from Ecuadorian straw it’s not going to bleach.

Yes, like said, natural straw ones won't bleach in the sun.
Why would you buy one made of anything else.🤔
My original point was that coloured/dyed Panama hats can bleach/fade in strong sunlight. Yes, the sun won't affect the straw as such, but will affect the hat's appearance.
Look at the photo of the inside of my 'tobacco' Panama hat, then look at the photo of the outside. It's more obvious seen 'in the flesh', but you can see sun bleaching/fading on the outside of the hat.
