Should I buy a Bandana? I have a cyst on my neck and it’s summer and I’m wearing T shirts a lot the public can see it if they sit behind me on the bus. Are Bandanas worn by older gentlemen or is it a young trendy thing? I was a Biker ten years ago and they were part of the greasers every day dress code. Glad for your advice.

Look at a company called Lulu lane who some really nice scarfs/ bandanas or another reasonable site is Soho scarves. They have older gentlemen modelling their scarves.

Yes I wore ( my fathers) one in the late 60s it was a bit posh but I liked it, perhaps you have given me an idea, thanks.

Think I'm getting influenced by this thread as I actually tried some hats on today in the chazzers just like the one in the above selfie ,BH said I look alright in a hat but I'm still not sure and neither was the right size anyway.

One also had a pukka made in Australia bush-tucker style hat (no corks!) made from Kangaroo leather.

Oh and like those shoes Accy .

Cravats have improved. I have one of mine from the Sixties and a couple of new ones which are much better.

A point about a cravat: it’s a good way to get some more use out of a shirt that has otherwise “had it” because the collar is now too small or too worn.

(If you quote me I may have to kill you, of course…)😉

How would a cravat make a worn collar ok. Just buy another shirt you tight ar&e.
To kill me you will have to find me and then are you that confident of your ability as an assassin.

On the subject of cravats, I do like them, but don't think they look as smart as a tie. On others they night do, but on my half a usual width neck I don't know. Bow ties are ok(ish), but to me they look a bit 'Clark Kent' nerdyish! I wore one in this photo of me and brother taken in 1965 when I was four, but children wore bow ties in those days.

No way can/could I tie a proper bow tie! I can tie one on my knee when practising, but when looking at my reflection in a mirror to tie one, no way can I do it!

I can tie one if I think about it and if I have a mirror. I do have a DJ which I wear a couple of times a year with the regulation black bow tie. I do have one other bow tie, but I agree with you - the look is at best, “American preppy”, and, at worst, “English eccentric”! 😉
