I have a Gurteen plain navy wool blazer. Quite understated but well made.

That reminded me I have a navy Gurteen moleskin suit that I bought early this year. I need to start getting out more and wear these clothes. All I seem to wear is cycling kit and clothes suitable for being mauled by a Cocker Spaniel puppy.

Looks a bit loose around the lower region, is it a regular fit rather than tailored?

It was a 42 regular size, not my usual 42 long size. It was a bit short in the arms as well. The shop's owner says she'll order the jacket in a 42L for me. I'll see how that fits, but like I said earlier, it's too thin a material for me, unless worn in late spring and summer.

To be honest that looks too long in the body as well too wide on the waist but I think a lot of your jackets are bit like that. But I guess that’s your look.

It's down to disabilities caused by my neck cancer 18 years ago. I don't like to keep telling folk about it, but it helps when some wonder about my appearance. I was left with significant upper body 'deformaties' that an off the peg jacket can't totally hide. I could get suits and jackets made to measure that would cover up my shape, but that'd be a pain as not only would it cost a lot, but such tailors are hard to find these days. If I see a jacket like the one in question and it fits fairy well then I'll buy it, hoping that folk who see something not quite as it should be accept my predicament. When I buy Cordings suits, I know the jacket will be longer than some see as 'normal', but I have to buy a long size to get the arm length right and even then another inch wouldn't go amiss as I have very long arms. I don't mind long jackets as to me they look classier than short jackets that tend to be worn in a slim, even skinny size by 20's/30's and 40's types.

very much doubt it. Inhaling any smoke is very bad for you, and I'd hazard to guess that the tar in fag smoke which causes cancer and lung problems is merely from the smoke itself rather than the nicotine, though that's also bad for you as well.

They used to reckon that the paper a cigarette was rolled in was more carcinogenic than the tobacco hence pipes and cigars were 'safer'

Certainly tastes worse which is why I always use liqourice papers..........................Oh BTW if anyone wants some normal fag papers I've got around 500 packets that used to be given away free in the packs of 'baccy' I smoked.

I remember hearing that too. I was even tempted to believe it when I smoked cigars. But really, it was a load of old cobblers wasn't it.

It may well have been, I just know I'm gonna smoke for the rest of my life.................after the botched operation on my leg the doctors told me that maybe smoking and drinking had held up the healing process (turns out it was a hospital aquired infection during the first operation)
Never been so bored in all my life but I stuck it out then on going back to the fracture clinic after 3 months the consultant I saw (a different one) said that maybe they hadn't got all the muck out when the bone was exposed and when I pointed out that the bone hadn't broken through the skin he looked very flustered. I can only assume that the infection occurred during surgery.
