A question for those that wear 501s.

Looking at these they're almost new and very dark, but I've never seen the inside of the fabric that dark before, it's always been very pale.

Is that right or are they possibly fake?

Mmmm, yes, they could be.🤔 As a youngster in the 1970's, when a pair of my Levis (You were either a Levis, Wrangler, or a Lee Cooper wearer) wore too thin, I'd unsew the orange label and sew it onto another make of jeans, when I couldn't afford new Levis.

A few years ago I was sent over the border by work to help out around Greater Manchester, one warehouse was stacked to the rafters with fake jeans, & according to the local engineers it was an open secret as to what was going on

I've just ordered the above. It cost with P&P £117.45, down from the £185.95, including, P&P it would've cost before the sale and the discount code reduction. I just had to have it. It's quite unique and will surely catch the eye of those in the know!🧐

I just got Mrs W to inspect my bottom. Which is covered by a pair of 501’s and my tag has the word Levi’s on it as well as the symbol. The colour of the denim on the inside of those looks wrong as well.

Give my commiserations to Mrs W. 😂

That patch doesn't look right and the position of the buttons on the fly look different, but who knows, it's not as if Levi never change things even on what's supposedly the same model.

fabric looks odd, the little red tag is wrong

is the rear patch label really leather?

are the buttons correctly embossed?

I've just bought this. I got ten percent off the sale price so not bad I'd say. I already have this hat in black and 'electric blue'. Looking at the seller's site after buying it, it looks like I bought the last 59cm size available, which adds to the pleasure.😉

While out and about today I got talking to a bloke who had a pair of clogs on. Not 'Dutch' clogs but the type they used to wear in the cotton and wool Mills of Lancashire, and that place over The Pennines!😬 On asking him how much they cost, expecting him to say about 300 quid he told me they were just over £100. That's not bad at all! He said they have many in stock, but also do custom made to whatever you want ones, they'll make for you in a fortnight or so. I might have a look to the place as it's only about half an hour from my home.😉

I wore clogs when I worked in foundries, you could literally stand on molten metal pie
ces on the floor and the soles would not burn/melt through. OK they would catch fire but we wore leather 'Gaiters' with QR buckles so your jeans didn't catch light (well not that often) and we also wore leather 'aprons' to stop splashes getting on you (Like a Blacksmiths apron)
Mainly brass castings so that melts at around 900 centigrade but we made thin ornamental things so we take it to around 1200 centigrade so it would reach into all the little bits before setting (Mis-running)
Hard dangerous work but quite enjoyable.

What are 'loon' pants? 🤔 I knew there was a clog maker or makers in West Yorkshire, but not sure where. The cobblers shop here in Great Harwood used to make them to order, but they must've been shut now about 40 years. If I buy a pair I'll buy burgundy leather ones, or order them if they don't have any in the shop. The bloke who had them on today told me the place in Mytholmroyd makes clogs with fur lining for £160, which are more comfy according to him.

Two ties bought from the retro clothing shop I work in yesterday. One's a Pierre Balmain one, bought for ten quid, retailing around £100. The other one's a Lancashire County Cricket Club tie that'll go well with my LCC jumper.
