What are 'loon' pants? 🤔 I knew there was a clog maker or makers in West Yorkshire, but not sure where. The cobblers shop here in Great Harwood used to make them to order, but they must've been shut now about 40 years. If I buy a pair I'll buy burgundy leather ones, or order them if they don't have any in the shop. The bloke who had them on today told me the place in Mytholmroyd makes clogs with fur lining for £160, which are more comfy according to him.

Loons were bell bottomed trousers worn by most rock stars of the early 1970’s and hippies.

(bal)loon pants were wider than bell bottoms, and the wider bit started higher up, bell bottoms were fairly close fitting until below the knee, and flares were a halfway house

in this pic, i'd say page has loons, whereas plant has flares...

They were tight round the thighs and had a greater flare than Bellbottoms.

i thought plant as he favoured microphone in the left hand and often made expressive gestures with the other hand, whereas gillan typically held it in his right, but both used both at times
