I have gone kind of the opposite way to you. I use to wear sharp suits as it was required for the job I was in for my sins in my previous life working as a relationship manager for a bank dealing with affluent clients. However since taking voluntary redundancy few years back I have hanged all my suits for good and just wear casual clothes. I would suggest smart casual works well and I think a good tweed jacket would be a good addition to your wardrobe. It goes well with both chinos as well as smart jeans . If you really want to make an impression then a matching tweed jacket and waistcoat is a formidable combo and will certainly elevate you to desirable levels with the opposite sex.

If you look back through this long thread you'll see that I have quite a few tweed jackets, waistcoats etc.😉🤙

I'll wear it with my off white fine wool summer trousers or my beige linen trousers off my beige linen suit. In fact there are many items I could wear it with. Underneath it'll look nice with a not too formal shirt and tie, a shirt and cravat or even the cotton cream rollneck I bought months ago but have yet to open. Do I wear such items in such vivid colours to draw in comments, sometimes negative ones and to be noticed?! Well yes, of course I do! To blend in with the crowd is to give up on life! 🧐 😉

I wore it yesterday for the first time. Heck, I look thin, and my trouser break is too high above my shoes, but the latter can be remedied by lengthening my braces length.

I would love that in a 3 piece suit.

I was going to. Burns night and Mrs as looked in to me getting a Kilt in the family tartan ( McCullough) but I fancied trews as I thought I could wear them more often. However the cost was rather restrictive.

I fancied a pair of tartan trousers the other year. They were made, or sold by House of Bruar. Someone put me off buying them, saying House of Bruar stuff is 'average' quality, so I didn't bother buying them.

I was looking on their website for a suit, either another tweed or maybe moleskin but might have to wait till I see one of their shops given that comment. Obviously I'm not expecting Cordings quality for half the money, but do want something decent for my four or five hundred quid
