I didn’t realise one’s shirt had to coordinate with one’s phone case.😏
I thought everyone knew that!

I bought these yesterday from the cobblers in Malton. I ended paying more than I was planning too, but it seems English made shoes now start to retail at about £250. Anything less than that and they are made in India.
I already have a pair of these in Tan but I needed some darker ones to go withe Harris tweed suit I bought a few weeks ago.

Should last a lifetime though![]()
My Tan ones are over 10 years old and the sole looks hardly worn.
I have some tan ones that I save for best and I reckon they'll see me out without even needing a resole at the current rate of wear

That's going to be a month of pain, especially round the ankles, breaking them in.
Not at all, I never had a problem with Loake shoes or boots. However when I walked to the pub in the next village and back about two miles. Wearing my Trickers loafers with no socks, I gave myself a massive blister on both heels.

Thoroughly deserved blisters! Why did you think it was a good idea not to wear socks?
Heck, if I was walking that distance in sandals I would wear socks!
For serious walking, in hiking boots, I wear two pairs of socks, a smooth pair of bamboo fibre ones with merino "hiking" socks over them. No blisters for me (touch wood).
Every pair of Loake boots I bought gave me a month of breaking in pain. The Loake shoes weren't too bad, but the boots made my ankles black and blue and one pair even made a little hole near my ankle bone!!🙄
