There' a post on a local stuff Facebook site slagging off this bloke who asks for money outside a local supermarket. One or two mentioned that he has 'Hoka' trainers on, adding that quote...I work and can’t afford such trainers costing £140. I noticed mmm, must be 30 odd years ago that some seem to have what I'd call training shoe envy. What do you fellow chaps think about this seemingly obsession about what 'trainers' someone is wearing and more to the point how much they cost?🤔🧐

My last pair of Hokas cost £70 from a well known online sports shoes retailer because they were last year's colour.

Although it's possible that someone might have given them to him as they're past their best for running in.

Or that he got them from a charity shop or a donation.

Some people really have too much time on their hands.

Funnily enough I watched a video last night about Ronnie Woods's class A drugs addiction. Apparently he was a full on addict, spending most of his musical earnings on the stuff, getting into serious debt! It said that Mick Jagger although a dabbler in such stuff himself was a strict leader of the Rolling Stones who nearly fired Ronnie Wood when his addiction affected his performances on stage. He paid for Woods's rehabilitation which seemed to pay off. The narrator said that Woods became addicted when he needed something to make him keep up with the Stones strict regime and high musical expectations!

Maybe he had the trainers before he fell on hard times?
Maybe they were given to him?
Maybe they were in a chazza shop?
Maybe they are fakes?

Maybe the FB tosser should shut the flip up?

I don't know why they judge someone on what 'trainers' they wear! Like you say, they were probably bought in a charity shop etc. They look crap anyway, but then do all 'trainers' to me!🧐 Training shoe wear unless actually training, 'sliders' wear, 'crocs' wear to me equals slovenliness!!🧐

I wear crocs (well, garden centre sourced substitutes) as slippers. I wouldnt venture out in public with them.

Accy, do you use Vinted at all? Since I've dropped nearly 5 stone Ive dropped from a 54 to a 50 chest, and down a waist size. Mrs D got shot of my old clothes and replaced them with decent stuff for pennies. Go a nice Mark D'Arcy sport coat, and a tidy Jeff Banks one to go with it.

I was put off Mark D’Arcy suits and jackets due to it being 75% polyester.

I now have a pair of Navy blue crocs that Mrs W bought for me that get used for walking to the shed and garage when it’s damp and accompanying Bertie round the garden.

RW's autobiography was a good read. Just left all the admin of life to others and did his thing. Every now and again he'd find out he was in debt and/or skint and try to get a tour going to pay for it. Seemed to be a victim many times to exploitive managers and/or a blindness/naivity as far as drugs were concerned.

How the hell do you end up in debt, skint etc when you make millions from touring and record sales?! Surely even the most hardened drug abuser can't spend millions on drugs for personal use! 🤷
