Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of cycling the Pennine way "foot"path? I'm planning on doing it in September and any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

I think this is a 'foot' path for a reason, there will no doubt be sections that are un-ridable. It's extremely long too starting from derby region upto scotland. I guess if you had a super-light foldable bmx style bike it could be reasonable enough?

i.e. Any part of it classified as a footpath. Bikes are not allowed on footpaths, strictly speaking not even if they're being wheeled or carried.

I've ridden parts of the Pennine bridleway - strictly MTB only.

I don't know the Pennine Way footpath route but I have met people walking it when I have been riding the Pennine Cycle Way. This is a great route from Derby to Berwick, can be ridden in 4 days or more, lots of hills, quiet roads and beautiful countryside. I'd give this a go before trying to ride a route designed for walkers.
