While researching something else, I noticed that the RAF Sea king S&R helicopters have two alternative colour schemes:
What is the difference, and why are the different colour schemes used, is it just RAF/Navy colour schemes?

Yes, RAF SAR helicopters have been yellow for the last 60-odd years.
Naval ones (when they used to operate them) have traditionally been grey with red hi-vis.

It was that last piece, RAF Yellow, Royal Navy - Grey/Red.

Thanks for the information. I had half an idea to paint the Brompton grey with orange on the front and rear forks, and a band on the crossbar, but I can't make it work in my head, so currently yellow is the favoured option.
