Jam. They had a couple of good tunes, and I couldn't abide The Police.
But I can think of an awful lot of other three pieces I'd listen to in preference to either.

I like The Police and The Jam.... (walking on the moon was the first single i bought with my own money) ...both cracking post-punk bands, along with many many others. But like The Jam, The Police also had a bell-end for a front man, along with many other bands.

I thought both bands were brilliant, and have all the albums by both and most of the solo albums by both, great musos....but Sting is a cock and Weller is a pretentious tool. I preferred Rick Bucklers drumming, and Foxton’s bass playing was more intense. So the Jam just aces it.

But they were no Kenny, either of them.

Police for me, not that I thought they were awesome, just they were a bit less annoying than The Jam. A bit too much angst for me, Police were a good bit easier on my ear.

That poncy Sting is too much, especially after I saw his pitiful attempt at acting in Dune, plus all that fake Buddhist stuff. So has to be Jam although I don't know much about their stuff.
