Morning.
Slightly overcast at the moment but that's good as I have a bit of decorating to do inside(cover up damp stains from that shower leak a couple weeks ago). All this warm dry weather has dried everything out so ready for paint.
Later a weights session. Plus maybe a spot of deckchair action in the sun....

Been up since stupid o'clock. Will go back shortly.
Just had a Bullfinch on the bird bath....not seen one for many months.
"Just had a Bullfinch on the bird bath"

Hmmm

sounds dodgy - not sure exactly why but it does!!!

anyway - on a similar bird theme

Just been for a ride
on the route home I was going along a path through some woods (Moor Nature Reserve for those who know)
and at one point there is a wire fence with 8 foot concrete posts - and scrub land on the other side

I noticed something on top of one of the posts as I passed so I glanced up

it was a large brown hawk just sitting on top of the post watching me
I stopped a few yards past it and looked

before I could get my phone out to take a picture it lazily unfurled its wings and flapped off to some nearby trees

amazing thing to get so close to one like that!!

Got 1/2 mile from home and ran out of petrol!
Managed to shake it up and get a float chamber full of fuel to get me back home where I filled up both bikes and we set off again.
Had a cuppa at Stogumber station and took a few pics.

Nice ride back to Watchet for the market - bikes drew a lot of attention from misty eyed old geezers.
Got back home, had a quick change and have gone to the Star Inn for lunch.

Just popped out for a short wander round the town. Wish I hadn’t bothered as I just ended up irritated by other people taking up the whole pavement. I am always the one who seems to have to step off the pavement into the road and you never even get a thanks or any acknowledgement. Maybe I’m just getting cranky, but I find manners severely lacking nowadays.

I’m hoping diet will help if I can stick with it. Eating my porridge at the moment with a generous spoonful of ground flaxseed. I’ve ditched the ready meals and become almost pescatarian as I like fish. Trying to eat more veggies too plus a couple of supplements that are supposed to help.

It’s absolutely gorgeous here. I did a lovely 8 mile loop along the river, up over the hill then back down and alongside the loch and back home.

Mo, I might have mentioned it before but there was an excellent " Sliced Bread " podcast that looked into cholesterol, Statins and dietary regimes. Those Yogurt drinks do actually work, the supermarkety own brands are equally as efficiient as the more expensive branded ones, and some evidence that consuming one in the evening is a better option. Well worth a listen.

Thanks. I actually walked along to Aldi earlier today and picked up a couple of packs.
