That is where I was till this morning. Just spent one week there at our daughter's . Great bike ride on the Tarka trail if you can but it can get very busy with walkers too.

Any tips for cafe , pubs , good places to eat ?

Okay you plan on going e-assist. But why sell the bike you have?

Is it sat there as a reminder of what you can't do, at present, or as a target to aim for on Recovery Road. I'd be aiming for the second option.
This setback is only temporary, you could be wanting back on, and actually getting back on it sooner than you think.

No, not a reminder, etc, reality is that I am nearly 69 and a year or, as is more likely, two convalescing will pitch me in at 71 and I think I will be ready for some e-assist by then.

Can't speak for Spokey but sometimes you have to face reality.
When it happened to Me I just knew I would never ride again.
I had a nice carbon road bike and a hard tail.
My son suddenly became 2 bikes better off.

About where I am in terms of pragmatism.

Good morning all.
A decent night's sleep last night, just woken 3 times by various nurses. For some reason they check blood pressure etc every 3 hours and if you are asleep they wake you.
I am on yet another medicine as the Doctor says my Magnesium levels are low......hey ho.

Yes, it is a pain. As is someone coming in in the early hours to check on how many 'wees' you have had. FFS!

OMG. £1,075 for me. :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Very nice!

Fair enough. Two different responses on the same piece. And it does come down to yourself, not me or anyone else.

Worse is being woken up to be asked if you want anything to help you sleep. Then they check and see you can't be given anything anyway, and you're awake the rest of the night.
Sort off explains the MRI incident.
