WOW - I have never even been tempted to have that done!!!

I basically avoid anything involving pain whenever necessary!

I got mine pierced years ago but always found earrings irritated my ears no matter what material they were made from. They have long since healed up and I won’t be doing it again. I’m not really a jewellery person anyway apart from my smartwatch.

I suppose I should move through and stick the cycling on as it starts early today.

Good morning. A sunny but cool start which looks to be the order of the day. After yesterday's ride I'm on a rest day from exercise apart from stretching shortly. I'll potter and catch up stuff. I have a creak on the bike. I'm pretty sure it's from the pedals so those and the cleats will get a good clean and proper greasing. I'll check the seat post as well but that's an outsider - wrong sort of creak.

So, yesterday. A fabulous day on the bike, one of the highlights of our year, probably THE highlight of the year. As is our want we chucked in some on the fly variations, pensioners do this, it confuses the hell out of slaves to the GPS! This improved the route significantly skipping two long busy A road sections but upping the mileage to 117 and 4100 feet (basically flat). The guy who worried us bailed at 30 miles, a couple of others joined for some miles at different points. When the three pedalling pensioners lined up we got a great "through and off" going at 20+ hitting 25 on some sections. We know each other so well it works brilliantly. Averaged 15mph over the first 108 when we split to head home. Me and a buddy decided it was time to drop the pace as we had three mile climb ahead and I got home with 14.6.

We found a great little cafe in Silverdale - The Blossom Bird - it gets five stars from the pensioners. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

The boy done good ^_^
I have pierced ears. I had them done when I was about 13. I always wear earing, but they must be gold otherwise my ears weep and become quite sore. That's my excuse anyway.

And you have told Mr WD that they are allergic to old jeans.....they must be at least nearly new.

Can I tell a terrible story?............with apologies to WD. On our ride yesterday the conversation went like this. Four men of a certain age were lined up at a farm gate relieving themselves. The field was full of sheep, some turned to stare at us:

#1: "Those sheep are staring at us"
#2: "If they were Welsh sheep they'd be running for the bottom of the field."
#3: "If they were Welsh sheep it's they ones that walk towards you that you have to worry about!"

I laughed so hard I might have wet myself..........fortunately I'd had a pee....................

I presume Mr WD believs you??

My wife has a similar problem - only proper gold or Sterling Silver is OK for her otherwise I am being a cheapskate it causes rashes!!

Many years ago I was working on a farm in Canada with a friend
The farmer was loaning out a fields to a neighbour who had bought a load of sheep
One of the had been reared and was very friendly - and particular with the framer and always came to him for a stroke

There was a party and all the neighbours came - including the bloke who bought the sheep and his brothers
the farmer and us lads were chatting to them and he commented how nice it was that he came out every morning and this sheep was there waiting for him with its feet on the bar of teh fence

One of the lad's brothers asked , in a genuine enquiring tone "Front or back feet"

We had had a few drink and all ended up on the ground !

Just come back from a ride
all was peaceful and quiet and relaxing

until I came back - that was more eventfull

firstly I got knocked off my bike by a car
Lady was parked at a T-junction where I was turning right into the road she was in
I turned past the front of her car - a few yeards away
and she just started up and drove into me!!
I sort of got caught by the side of her car as she was turning and nearly managed to stay upright

but then just fell off because the bike was too much under her car to come upright with tah handlebars toutching the car

She stopped and immediatly apologised
said she thought I was going straight on - which is weird as I was directly in front of her bonnet when she started

but she did say sorry and asked if I was OK

which I said I was - probably not a good guide as I wsa a bit freaked out

but I was - just a graze

Funny things - she asked me several times if I wanted to give her my phone number
I assumed initially that it was so she could ring later and check I was OK

but then I also thought she might be worried her car had been scratched - which, to be fair, it might have been
I did look but it was a bit mucky so I couldn;t be sure - but nothing much

but it was her fault anyway

still - only the chain guard broken and that might go back together
Oh - and in fixing that I broke the rear view mirror

But I 'm OK

later on I went across The Bridge - which carries a busy road at this time of day

at the end of teh Bridge I passed a little lad - about 8-9 years old - on a bike with a cuddy toy hanging from teh handlebars

I started worrying and ended up going back and checking he was OK
he pointed across the Bridge and sais he was just waiting for his family - who were att he middle of the bridge - i.e. about 200 yards away or more!!

If my kid was right by a main road with lots of traffic on it I wouldn;t let him that far away from me
but at least he was OK - for some definition of OK

bit of a more eventful ride that I am used to !!
