Relatively lazy afternoon.. Snooze, read my book and drink coffee before going out for a family meal later.

Having just watched Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. I've had a 'lightbulb' moment, In the first film Dr. Who and the Daleks the Daleks were limited to the city and couldn't travel beyond as they were electrically powered and picked up their power from the metal floor - EVs. In the second film they can move around freely without being constrained to travelling on the metal floor - they obviously moved away from being EVs and clearly had some kind of petrol engine, kind of the opposite to us

We have had the grand Kids overnight

delivered them back to their Mum at about 4

Day actually started at 06:45 when the phone rang
the new dining room table was due to arrive today
deleivery note we had said between 8 and 12 - which is OK as I am normally up by 8 anyway
and they would ring 15-30 minutes before arriving

but they rang when they were already here at 6:45

the middle grandkid was already up - he normally is and just goes downstairs for his ipad and takes it back to bed
but instead he sat on the sofa with me and watched the men assemble the table

so I was rather "tired"

anyway - there were some incidents - ending up with an imposition of silence driving back from a walk - which was not popular!!

anyway - 3 kids arrived and 3 kids were delivered back again
and I am pretty sur e they were the same kids with all the same bits attached

so I'm calling that a win - and a new bottle of whisky has been opened!

Mrs Tkk had a tooth supporting her bridge crack. Evidently she needs implants to support a new bridge and has been quoted £13,600 😮

I was fitted with a bridge in my twenties on my upper front teeth. What they don tell you is that it will eventually kill the teeth supporting the bridge. I now have implants supporting a bridge I think it cost about 3 or 4 grand but that was about twenty years ago. However having paid £200 plus for a filling recently I can imagine that they are going to charge that much for implants.
We might need to go back to the times when the brides farther had all her teeth removed before the wedding. 😱

Good morning. First I see. I've been up for an hour which surprised me as I was very tired last night. It looks as though we will have a bright and sunny day. Hopefully this will let me get the grass cut. I've been trying to do this for a week, every time I get close to it something or someone has got in the way!!

Today? Mrs P is out for the day to meet an old friend who flies home to Florida on Saturday. I'm invited but I know it's a girls' day so will stay at home. I'm happy with this. There's a lot that needs doing, all the usual housework chores, etc. and hopefully some allotment work. I'm always better at this stuff when no one else is around.

One more coffee, the crossword and then I'll spring into action.
