Is it just me, or do these silly new threads with the mad titles annoy any one else? I just stick them straight on ignore.

Had an email from our local Toby Carvery advertising that children accompanying adults can eat for £1 during the summer holidays. We visit occasionally with a friend. ( the veggie options are very good ). On our last visit there were a couple on an adjacent table who came back from the carvery with plates so heavily laden I wondered how anyone could eat that amount. When the waitress came with the bill and asked if everything was satisfactory, the man started complaining that there wasn't any crackling available, he really liked crackling which apparently Toby had in the past had it as part of the food available, and how not having crackling had spoiled his enjoyment of the meal. The waitress was really good, saying that she would pass his remarks to the management, a very diplomatic response, it must be a really difficult job dealing with some members of the public. I doubt if I would make the end of one shift 🤔

I couldn't work in that sort of job - the stress of telling "some people" exactly what they deserve to hear would kill me

I have always presumed so as the threads appeared when they did

They did start exactly the same time they came over. I have not looked at them and probably never will.

I've got a new lower geared crankset coming for my old Falcon. The 52/42 is a bit much for the hills these days, I already have the largest 5 speed freewheel on it, 14-28 so i have a compact 50/34 coming., I'll pop down the shed and remove the one on it shortly. Should take all of ten minutes.

Re teeth. There was a community choir performing at Chorley Flower Show. One lady in the very middle of the group had clearly had teeth work. They stood out like a beacon. Not a very attractive sight. I know people who've had work done and face to face it's not noticeable but in a crowd it really stands out.

There’s currently a couple of ads showing on the telly just now where the actors have obviously had teeth whitening. I mutter to the telly…..”Oh, here’s Mr Teeth again”.
