Morning. Crap sleep for me too. Not helped by eating too much yesterday.

It’s feeling muggy and we have some rain forecast, in fact I think I hear it now.

I am one of those people. My wife is infuriated by me as within minutes she can hear my breathing change as I drift off.
I can also sleep anywhere.

I'm exactly the same. I'll fall asleep in minute 99/100 nights but rarely sleep more than 5 - 6 hours. I'm renowned for sleeping anywhere. One of my favourites is to go walking, eat my picnic and lay back on the grass.......anywhere except in my bed at night. It's infuriating.

I've been known to drift off at the theatre, cinema, the barber's chair 😲 and even at football - I was extremely tired that day.

When I was at work, for the last 14 years my commute was just over 16 miles each way. Most colleagues thought I was super human.
When I tried to explain that on a summers evening our group would do 50+ they thought we were crazy, and incredulous that on a Sunday when not working we would be pushing 100 miles.

Holidaying with our daughter on the IOW many decades ago we visited a small Planetarium. In my defence it was very dark and the seats reclined so you could follow the paths of the planets...

I have only been retired 5 minutes and I am effortlessly slipping into the retiree role. How did I ever find time to go to work? 😁

I would like to say I have bought an allotment. But in fact it is a tiny house in a 453 square metre garden. I am busy putting a click floor in the tiny house and sorting out an outdoor cooking area on the cheap.

I thought of a name for the place as I was raking bucket fulls of mirabelle plums off the grass. "La Maison Mirabelle". That will get the locals talking.

I have made my own jam for the first time. I am shocked how good mirabelle jam is. I am now researching how to make mirabelle hooch.
