@Dave7 I spotted this article earlier today and plan to use the technique on days I'm short of time or the weather prevents me riding. You should ignore any suggestions of pace, exertion levels etc. The key point is 3 minutes of easy walking followed by 3 minutes intense effort, at your chosen level, and repeat. I discussed it with my PT, her feeling is there's no harm in it, good for older folk and suits those who might enjoy challenging themselves.....again at your appropriate level.

Keep on keeping on. You're doing great.

Yes - I agree that 2 mph is not bad
I have always walked pretty fast
and if I go for walk just for the exercise then I only really get to 3 mph or just over
OK I had to reduce my default speed due to asthma - but I still pass everyone else on the paths

so 2 mph isn't bad - especiallyas it is part of a recovery thing so you will improve as you keep going

Take it slow Dave - you are getting there!!

Isn't the average walking pace around 3moh?

We find we need subtitles on a lot of things

I am especially bad if the lighting is dark so I can;t see their lips move

I reckon it is the quality of the speakers in the tellys nowadays
they go all in to make them thin and all that but the speakers can never bee all that good ife they are at the back and very narrow!

I do wonder if it is worth getting a sound bar or linking it into a proper hifi system with proper speakers

but I have never gone as far as spending money on it!

Films are the worst re sound quality. They are optimised for big screen environments.

American films being particularly bad as they talk fast, mumble and slur words.

Subtitles are a boon! We have them on all the time and I think your brain just adapts to listening to speech and almost subliminally reading the subtitles at the same time.

Wow. Its hot :heat: :sun:

It's 25⁰ here at the moment.
Two loads of washing done, and a chicken in white wine dinner, with home grown runner beans, carrots and new potatoes has been cooked.
MrsP will get home around 6pm this evening and no doubt will be hungry. It's all ready to be zapped in the microwave when she gets in.
