I’ve started bingeing a series that I seem to have missed called The Gone on iplayer. Really good so far, although the sound quality isn’t great. I’ve got the sound turned way up to nearly 30. Most things 10 to 12 is loud enough.

We seem to like the same TV, we’ll give that a try

We find we need subtitles on a lot of things

I am especially bad if the lighting is dark so I can;t see their lips move

I reckon it is the quality of the speakers in the tellys nowadays
they go all in to make them thin and all that but the speakers can never bee all that good if they are at the back and very narrow!

I do wonder if it is worth getting a sound bar or linking it into a proper hifi system with proper speakers

but I have never gone as far as spending money on it!

I have a sound bar for the reasons you give. It's a medium level one but is a definite improvement on the TV.
Even so I struggle with certain programs.

We've just finished series one and after a slow start we found it pretty good.
Series two is on the BBC st the moment. We'll catch up with it in due course.

Barnet,
Good morning all, another sunny start to the day here, it's a touch cool. But it's going to warm up as the day goes on.
After breakfast, which is going to be a couple of boiled eggs and toast firstly a dog walk then some domestics and then a bike ride, culminating in meeting up with a couple of mates at the Railway Bell early afternoon for a couple of ales.
That's the plan so far.

Morning all .....have a  on me, foc.
A lovely start to the day and set to get better/warmer.
3 things on today.
1. My daily walk**
2. A chicken curry to make. I promised my grandson I would make us one for lunch then my Bro 'invited himself' tbh he wanted to take me out but I will stretch the curry for 3 of us.
3. My team, Lpool, are on tv playing Palace in the Charity Shield match.

**I need a treadmill for winter.
Requirements are.....
Lightweight.
Cheap(ish) as it will only get light use.
Grab rails. With my balance problems this is a necessity.
