Very sensible.

I stopped wearing mine when I when I was 18 - had it done when I was 15 as a protest to my mum who would not let me have a tattoo!

Ear- rings and tattoos were never something that my Mum and Dad had a problem with for me

I have never seen the point in them
and especially the pain part of the process!!

and with tattoos - how can I judge whether what I want permanently on my skin
will be what I want there in 10/20 years time???

which confuses me as to why others don;t see this as a problem!

We take whatever Medicare offers to over seventies. Flu, Covid updates, Shingles, Pneumonia.

Yep, I'm the same. Whatever the NHS offers me I'm happy to have. I also feel children should receive what's on offer but that's another conversation altogether.

Very sensible imo.

Without vaccinations diseases like smallpox, polio etc would still be rife.

I take everything available although I need more advice having had recent chemo as to what I need to do to reinstate protection levels. I know for a fact that I can't have any live vaccine.

Currently at Kwap Fit. Came out of hossy to a flat tyre. Close examination revealed a nail well entrenched in the tread, and from the look of things had been there a while.

No spare, but got some air into it with the on board pump and even without restoring to goo it got me to Kwik Fit.

The only good news is a) it's Mrs D's lease car and we don't pay for the new tyre, and b) I'm now in Morrisons cafe eating cake and sipping coffee.

I got a Volvo C70 as a lease car once. A beautiful car but with a few draw backs.
One problem was that rear passengers couldn't get out......I literally had to help them.
The other problem (found out 1st week) was that the lease didn't cover tyres!!!. I got a nail in the side wall and had to buy a new tyre......they were those wide, low wall ones.... THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SMACKERS that cost me  .

I think SWMBO is being unreasonable

a couple of day ago I got home from a ride and found I had somehow cut my leg
sort of like a slice - not very deep but far more blood than is normal due to some tablets I take

anyway - I cleaned it up and put a plaster on it

which soaked through so I took it off and put another on
at bedtime I took that off and put another on to be sure I wouldn;t end up with blood over the sheets (I tend to scrawp around in bed!)
then took it off next morning
and put another on last night because my bath has taken the scab off and the sheets were at risk again

anyway - the point is that I am a man and don't shave my legs
hence all this involves hair and plasters

and, for some reason, SWMBO thinks this is funny
AND has turned down my suggestion that I deserve a bravery award!!!!

I wanted mine done when I was 15. Long storey short, I was brought up in a very religious** household where tattoos and earings were forbidden.
**I eventually 'escaped' and the wish for a stud has stayed with me. Aged 78 I have now fulfilled my dream

Good morning from a glorious sunny Lancashire. It's a beautiful day.

It's also a day of huge change. #1SP started school this morning. For the first time in 4½ years my small one isn't here on a Tuesday. I feel both sad and happy, sad for me and happy to see her take such a big step. I went to collect #3, her sister, as usual and #1 was beside herself with excitement. That was great to see. School has sent a couple of pics.......it's taken her perhaps 30 minutes to settle and get stuck in.

Just having #3 on her own already feels good. It's much quieter but I can already see after only three hours this is when I start to build that special relationship with her.

What a great day. 👍

We have one grand kid over night tonight

turns out that he start "proper school" on Friday although it is no big thing to him as he has been in the Nursery section for the last year anyway - it is just a different part of the same building
but the oldest starts today and the middle one start tomorrow
so tomorrow we have the little one all day - then go to their house to be there when the other 2 get home

It seems weird that the start days are all over the place

It is very important that the teachers have plenty of time for meetings and liaison and setup at the start of the year to get things started

I have worked in a school where ANY tattoo was banned
They had a problem at one point because a woman came for her interview with long sleeves
and then turned up to the first day with short sleeves revealing an arm full of the things!!!

The main places I taught at took the attitude that "if you can control the sort of kids we get and get them to learn something - then naff all else matters!!!"

I can see the point in some being a problem - but most are OK

I quite like some of the discreet ones but it is beyond me why people have complete arms and legs done.....I think they call them sleeves.
It seems to be a 'thing' with footballers.

The C70 is, thankfully, tucked up snug and warm in the carcoon with 4 brand new and fully inflated tyres.

The vehicle in distress is Mrs D's MG ZS EV Trophy+ Long Range (worlds longest car name.)

Now back at Krap Fart and they tell me it'll be the next one in. Can't grumble, it's busy and we landed without an appointment
