Anyone see the elipse? It was cloudy here at 7.30 but had cleared sufficiently by 8.15 for us to see the moon half eclipsed and clearing.

I saw the very end of it due to cloudiness & trees in the way. Sky just cleared in time for the very last bit of shadow..

Good Morning. A beautiful day has dawned in Northumberland which will help with the drive home as we have to finish our break today. The plan is to depart 10.30/11.00 and stop off at Magna Roman fort at Bardon Mill near Hexham. There are substantial ruins to see along with the Roman Army Museum and hopefully a decent cafe, though I'm not holding my breath. The one thing we haven't found here is a good cafe or good coffee..........as a dedicated cyclist and seeker of quality coffee and cake you can gauge my disappointment. Excellent short break in a lovely area.

A much fresher 10 degrees for my wander this morning, and tomorrow is to be even cooler. Saying around 8 on the forecast. I like the first autumnal morning coolness.

Not a bad morning weather wise, I was expecting rain but it's so far nice.
Father birthday so trip to see him today.

I thought the Swallows had left but I noticed a dozen still sitting on the wires at the end of the street when I was coming back from my walk. Must be the final stragglers getting ready to leave I think.

Yes, same one. They've smartened the whole place up a bit but it hasn't changed that much. The cafe, which is always busy, has been enlarged and theres a section set aside for dogs which is nice.

Bruce is a well known sleb among the staff.

Sheffield type stands outside if you ever ride up there.
