Good morning all fellow retirees.
The weather looks reasonable today.
I have my Flu and Covid vaccination booked for this morning, and then I'll be cycling up to the market to get some nectarines, plums and some things called Narcotts, which i presume are a cross between an Orange and a Tangerine. I have only ever seen them in our market, but they are very sweet and easy to peel.
Then I am going to go out for a few more miles On the bike to keep the legs ticking over.
There is a steam locomotive, 60007, Sir Nigel Gresley passing through our local station en route to Hampshire, so I'll call in and get some pictures of that while I'm out.
MrsP is out for the day so I might treat myself to a Burrito for lunch on the way home.
That's todays plan.😁

^ well reminded. I've had a text from local health centre saying the walk-in flu clinic is available this Saturday. Seeing as weather forecast is dire and club ride likely binned I might get jabbed instead. About 20 years ago I caught flu, it was horrendous and I reckon I felt as bad as when I was hospitalised with malaria in the 90s working abroad. Since then I've always had flu jab and I'm always puzzled by those who say then rather get flu! Not if it's proper flu they wouldn't, not just "man flu".

I got my first puncture in over a decade today. A large staple managed to penetrate my Marathon Plus. Luckily a spare inner tube always carried so only held me up for twenty minutes.

Blimey, that’s some going, & maybe hope for mine 😂

I have the Marathon Plus on my bike, & I am dreading a puncture - they have a bit of a reputation for being a bit stiff, I can fully imagine not being able to get the tyre off the wheel 😱
None yet in almost 5 years, but my mileage is not massively high (daft adventures aside) - a fair weather cyclist 🫣

The weather forecast says sunny intervals today, but we have thick grey cloud cover at the moment.

Morning all.
Serious problem here......I can't tune to Planet Rock. I am on Virgin which reacts to voice command.......it is refusing to tune to ANY radio station, only TV.
I will switch it all off and reboot it, see if that helps.

In other news, it's raining and due to rain all day.
