Mrs D doing a home made risotto 😋

MrsMikeIOW took our first crop of quince and made a dessert tonight with it. Very tasty!
Gardening all afternoon: massively pruned our apple & a few buddleias. Good job our friendly neighbour is away for a few weeks….needed her big bin too!
Apples suffered again from worm holes in about 60-70% of them. I believe we need to get nematodes to sort this out. It’s all new to me: I’m more landscaping than the growing bits 🤪
Night all.

Well that’s another month gone. It’s just whizzed by. I can’t believe how fast time seems to be going now. It’ll be 14 years at the end of this year since I packed in work. It’s scary to think if the next 14 go as quickly I’ll be 80 before I know it, if I’m still around.

14 years for me next February. I share your sentiments exactly . The months are flashing by . I am looking forward to hot stews and wood fires
as consolation for the long wet winter evenings. Had to bring an umbrella as cover walking the dog at 11.30 pm . It was so wet today she didn't get out earlier . The biggest thrill about going to bed now is the electric blanket !!!

I got my first puncture in over a decade today. A large staple managed to penetrate my Marathon Plus. Luckily a spare inner tube always carried so only held me up for twenty minutes.

If you're doing around 5000miles a year and that's first puncture in over 10 years that's impressive. I ride on Continental GP5000s which are very good as well but not that good. Obviously riding condiitons etc vary but still very good 10 years!
