Braised beef, roast potatoes and roast carrots today.

I've done some washing but it isn't going to dry outside so tumble dryer it is.

Just had an Email from Octopus Energy to say that there's free electricity for an hour this evening between 9 and 10 pm apparently there's a fair bit of spare generation from the wind. One of the issues is that the cables from Scotland down to where it's needed aren't big enough to carry the power, so they pay the wind farms to " curtail " ( switch off, sell it locally ).
I was reading about how Austria has reacted to some of the objections to Pylons a creative way.

I’m on Economy 10 with OVO, but not sure what Octopus offer. Might just be Economy 7.

I got an excellent padded jacket from Proviz last year. It's nice and cosy and totally reflective when car lights hit it.

I have a vision of the road AFTER you have finished your walk........written off cars all over the place with drivers telling the police how 'suddenly they were blinded'

Just had a further email to say there's a 3 hour free period between 12:00 and 15:00 tomorrow. I know what you mean about the range of tariffs, they keep bringing out new variants, but you can narrow it down a bit if you disregard the ones that are targeted at people with electric vehicles/ solar PV / batteries. They do an Economy 7 equivalent , a 12 month fixed with no exit fee. Daughter is on their gas tracker tariff which has saved her a fair bit. She has an electric car so gets cheap ( 8.5p kWh ) overnight electricity too.
I'm fortunate that with my combination of solar and battery I have been building up credit over the spring / summer/ early autumn as I am exporting more than we're using and it looks like this month will be just a couple of quid either way ( 49p including standing charge since the beginning of the month with about a week to go)

I saw one of those jackets in real life amazingly effective.
( I had heard that only the fabulously wealthy can afford them ) 😉

45 minutes on Zwift done. I stupidly thought I would be ok without the fan as I wasn’t intending putting much effort in, but still ended up cooking and couldn’t be bothered to hop off.
