I don't really object to the clocks going back/forward although I don't see the need.
What i do, strongly l, object to is having to get out of bed at 02.00 and doing it.
AND that is for every clock in the house.

I can't help thinking they could do away with it now. Was it not originally thought up to help farmers bring in crops in the summer when the war was on or something? Maybe I'm making that up.

We had a Drayton programmer for our central heating. It lived in the airing cupboard. A small backlit display and a few up/ down / select buttons. It was installed pre interweb, kept excellent time and automatically adjusted the time in spring and autumn without intervention. It's almost as if it is possible to predict this many years in advance....

BTW..... this soft lad was in tears last night.
Long story short.......
When my daughter was a little girl (maybe 8ish the school sent them out to play when the snow had turned to ice.
She had a fall and lost 3 of her 2nd teeth.
We were devastated as you can imagine.
We tried to Sue them and got a solicitor.
(Bear in mind... this was 1979ish, we were skint, lived in a 2 bed terrace-toilet down the yard) and the solicitor told us we needed a barrister and if we lost it would cost us money we just didn't have.... so they got away with it.
Over the years the problem went worse as her upper jaw started to crumble.
About 12 months ago she was offered private treatment to fuse the jawbone and fit implants.
Money !!!
Fortunately the bank of Dad was on hand.
Upshot......
Yesterday the treatment was completed and she looks great. She can now eat properly eg eat an apple.
The mistake my daughter and SiL made last night was to thank me with hugs.
I'm not good at that sort of thing and fell apart with lots of sobs.
So......I couldn't help her years ago but was so pleased I could do it now.
If only Sue could be here to see it.
