Such a miserable day, dark, wet and windy, much like @Drago Y fronts I expect. Only left the house to wander down the garden to top up the hedgehog food. Solar panels have generated a meagre 300 watts all day, though the milder weather means we've still got over 50% left in the battery which will last till the cheap charging period at 00:30.
Off to have my eyes checked in the morning followed by a trip to Dorchester to say farewell to the owner of Copper Street micro brewery 🍺

Once a knight always a knight but once a week is enough.

Once a king always a king but once a knight is enough.

Any further advance?

We have had an automated phone call from United Utilities saying there is a water problem in our area

Took a while but I found it on their website and it was genuine - abotu 1/4 mile up the road
For the last 3 hours it has been listed as "under investigation"

which gives us a problem

although all is OK at the momen
If we (well I) cook dinner then we could end up with a load of pans and utensils and plates that need washing
and no ability to do it if the water goes off

so - take away it is
but the only chippie I know of that does stuff I can eat (i.e. gluten free) is a 20 minute drive away and currently there is a 45 minute wait

still - chippie tea!!

Well, that's three of you so far who don't cycle anymore so , amongst us retirees, who else have stopped cycling?
I , for one, still do and don't intend to stop in the near future.

I ride two bikes (one at a time) and I'll be 80 next summer. I'll keep riding until I just keel over, fall off the bike and wake up in the afterlife. Some lucky person may get a free bike.

Evening folks :okay: managed a spin today, bit chilly but was ok. Think i'll do shorter rides through the winter as im feeling my age....when im returning from a longer ride it starts to hurt a bit [shoulder, right elbow] and in the last 5 miles or so i really really want to get home! The return ride usually sees the sun sinking below the hills and a ominous feeling of the impending darkness, falling temperatures and the possibility of emerging zombies...you never no! The plan would be shorter more frequent rides but the weather rarely obliges and i cant book a slot like ordering my tesco delivery!

Just wait until the water comes on again then wash the pans!

I'm probably over wary
When I lived in North Wales we were without drinkable water for about 6 months at one point
and the water we had got turned off for 24 at a time sometimes

we got used to boiling all water to drink and keeping a bucket by the toilets

all of which was fun with a baby!!
