When my dentist asked me that few years back i asked what that had to do with my teeth? She admitted it had nothing to do with them. So I said in that case I decline to answer that. She put that in my notes and I've not been asked since.

Dentist prices are a joke & we are still NHS, too.
Solicitors are worse - ours charges £350 per hour. Back in the late 90's/early 2000's I earned £66 per hour, I thought that was a lot. But even with inflation factored in it would still be way short of £350 per hour.
I've never paid that. At the time we used her our solicitor was only £450/hour!!! I'll explain later but to this day I still consider it supreme value for money to resolve a family estate issue. If though you're talking conveyancing or the like, that's ridiculous.
