Does that mean you can't get bowel cancer when you are over 75?
The argument is the standard follow up procedure of a colonoscopy carries risks to those aged 75+ either from the investigation or the general anaesthetic. I declined a GA and had gas and air.
There's also the suggestion bowel cancel is slow to develop and life-expectancy may be shorter than the illness takes to develop. My wife would disagree. Diagnosed in autumn '24 she now has stage 4 terminal bowel cancer.
Me? I'm on a trial with an annual voluntary colonoscopy. I'm happy to take every screening I can get!!
