Morning. Around freezing here when I first went out. Struggled round a 4 mile run and just running a bath for a nice soak now.

A new series of Endeavour starts this evening which I'm looking forward to. Oh, and I suppose I will watch France beat Scotland at rugby too.

Bright and sunny this morning. I'll check with our daughter later, she was going on a bike ride with friends in the New Forest yesterday. Dad had to go over on Friday to check her bike over. It was previously a Mrs Tenkaykev bike. Daughter rides it infrequently so the tires had gone flat and she had struggled with pumping them with a crappy hand pump. Left her a track pump so she should be good for future events.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
It's nice and frosty outside and the sun is now shining.
A domestics day today, plenty of washing to go on, the kitchen floor looks like it could grow potatoes on.
Hopefully I'll get out on the bike for a while to keep the legs ticking over.
I found a nice piece of salmon in the freezer, so that will be dinner today, with broccoli and carrots.
Enjoy your day everyone.

I'm pleased that there is a new series of Endeavour. I thought Sean Evans had pulled the plug on the series, saying that there wouldn't be another one.
Maybe he meant this one.

Hey, hey, hey.......it's a beautiful day..........so Paul is going to be cycling decorating  Got lots done yesterday. Two emulsion coats, one gloss and deep clean on all furniture. This morning it's deep clean the wooden floor, possibly a second gloss and perhaps a first emulsion on the ceiling which doesn't really need it but possibly the new decorations will mean it looks a bit shabby.

Film club at our house tonight and we will be showing Mrs Caldicott's Cabbage War. Should be fun. I forget who recommended the film but thank you. I enjoyed it and I'm sure our friends will.

Congratulations Mr @dave r and Mrs dave r. 🍾🥂

Remembered. Our little group of pedalling pensioners is known for its political views and willingness to engage in healthy, friendly debate. To say we're left leaning with only 75% Labour voters would be inaccurate! 🤣

One of our number is very good with topical references, he's also our token Tory! Friday's cafe stop while being seved by a lovely young woman:

Buddy #1: "Bacon and egg barm please. American."

Paul: "Sausage barm and flat white. Thank you"

Token Tory: "Flat white. Bacon barm with turnip on the side"

It took a few seconds before the young woman broke into a wide smile. TT is renowned for gently winding up serving staff.

Seems taht 'we' have volunteered to take the Grand-daughter to a stately home this afternoon

which means picking her up at 12 ish

not sure I remember being part of the conversation - I was informed of it when I asked what they had been looking for in the National Trust handbook

She seems to have realised that if she is going to get any concept of what is around - other than shopping centres and stuff for younger boys (her brothers) to do - then she is best off asking us
WHen she stays over she stays up later than her brothers and generally sits with us and watches the News - which takes ages as we keep pausing it to answer her question!
Which is good - although she does get ratehr shocked about things like the Russia/Ukraine war - her parents are too busy to talk about it and teh telly is always on cartoons for the boys.

Anyway - looks like cycling is out for today - shame as the bike is working properly now
