Getting old but not past it
Location
North Wales
When I went shopping in Aldi earlier on, I came across the wife of somebody I used to work with many years ago. I retired from engineering in 2004 and rarely see the people I shared work with. On this occasion , she told me about her husband who is just 1 year younger than me. He has early dementia and struggles with walking too. He was sitting in the car outside so I went to see him. He recognised me and we had a little chat. I found out from him than another one now has liver cancer and he is 10 years younger than me. Time is cruel but it was good to see him .
I count myself lucky to still be in good health compared to them.

Watched a film on youtube and then had a sleep

Well the day went well.
Removals arrived at 0845 - two lorries and four lads. Loaded up in 2 hours. Our sale completion confirmed at 0930. Dropped keys off at agents and walked over to the village car park. Had a call from solicitors on the way to say our purchase had completed.
Drove over to Watchet, picked up keys from vendors agents. Arrived at new place just as removals guys were backing the driveway.
They took two hours to unload.
All done by 1430.
Unpacked some essential stuff and then our best mates arrived from Minehead bearing fish & chips and beer. :okay:
They left about 10 minutes ago, so now we can ............ relax.

Barnet,
The only downside is that I'm 500K down on this morning.
Upside is that, not only the West Somerset Railway (steam trains) can be seen from our living room, but we also have a sea view which we didn't realise when viewing the house.
Will be spending the next few weeks acclimatising as a Wurzel.

Lovely railway is the WSR. They do have a few through trains from Paddington in the summer season.
We have some friends who live in Bishops Lydeard. I like it down that part of Somerset.

Morning all :hello:

We're knackered!
Going to have a couple of easy days before we get into unpacking properly.
Today, we need to do a bit of shopping for food and I need to buy a new, bigger lawnmower. I'll also be reading up on the central heating system, to while away an hour or so.
