We have friends visiting from France in the autumn. Mrs P has suggested I offer to take the husband cycling. 😲 I

I've played the "he won't have any shoes with cleats" card.

Which got the reply "Give him plenty of warning, perhaps he can borrow some." Then I played the "These aren't road cleats, they're double-sided SPD MTB cleats."

Next "Just tell him what's needed. You never know"

Paul wanders off muttering. This is my bikes guys. You understand. We've got six months to come up with reasons why another person can't touch let alone ride my bikes.?*** Get thinking, every spare moment.

*** #1 son excepted as I know how good he is........both proud and jealous of that!

Ask yourself two questions: Is he a keen cyclist and is he better than you?
If you can answer yes to both questions, then you have a problem.

Will it be the right size for him?
You don't want him injuring himself while he's on holiday. Thereby ruining their holiday.

Failing that book it in for it's annual service a week before they're due.

East or West of The Pennines?

Travelling up the West side because
a) it is faster
and
b) strange people inhabit the places East of the Pennines - so I've heard

but we end up on the Eastern part of Scotland
this time

West coast later on this year!

Niece turned up with her boyfriend - they had been out shopping - presumably in Liverpool

She had bought him his birthday present

a T-Shirt - the sort that has a collar and about 3 buttons at the neck
it was from the sort of shop that gives you posh bags

it was priced at £200
reduced to £140


WTAF!!!!

140 quid for a bloomin' T-shirt
I bought one this morning and thought £18 was just about OK

this one was almost 10 times the cost of mine and, apart from the label, looked about the same
and mine felt better made to me

maybe I am turning into a grumpy old whatsit!!!

The interesting one today was on our way home from town, the bus pulled up , latest electric bus, the driver got out and dropped the wheelchair ramp, I wheeled my Good Lady on and as I pushed her to the wheelchair space a message was broadcast telling everyone a wheelchair user had just boarded the bus and asking anyone in the wheelchair space to move, I've not heard that before.
