Some of our friends are spending their retirement ploughing through to do and activity lists which is fine if it works for them - we have taken a different approach, basically; just let the days come and flow and if we want to do stuff we will and if we don't we will just doss and chill.

There’s a couple I know round the corner who are always up to something going by their Facebook pages. Mind you, they are both still working long shifts so I can understand them wanting to do as much as they can when they have days off. I think when you don’t work, the urgency to do stuff disappears.
I had another little wander and took the phone to snap all the new houses still getting flung up here even although the schools are nearing capacity and the health centre is struggling. Hundreds of homes on one side and another scheme going up behind our Aldi.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

A similar problem here but with mobile homes. Mobile home parks are applying left right abd centre just outside of Mach. People re staying all year round and putting a terrible strain on an already stretched to breaking point Dr's surgery.

I can top that, I stopped working 34 years ago

Mrs SD wished she had never had to work.

She is self-confessed bone idle and has no intention of changing her ways.

On the other hand, she has a great personality and is very intelligent, good looking and very sexy. Plus she can put up with me and keep me under control - she is no pussycat.

And, as she has often said, when you first laid eyes on me your first thought was definitely not; 'she'll make a great housewife'.

Fair point.

My grandson asked me if I could take him to Asda for a bottle of Prime. I said No on the grounds that it would be a 10 miles round trip, I refuse to take him in his pyjamas and I don't approve of that drink anyway.

Your grounds are very comprehensive - presume they instantly silenced the little fella with no comeback?
