New telescopic water fed window cleaning pole has been delivered and I've just used it to clean our front windows. Seems to work OK. :okay:
Some years back we had a window cleaner knock on our door and offer his services, which I politely declined.

He got a bit shirty and demanded to know why. I flexed my lats, leaned over him and said, "I'm six-foot-four and live in a bungalow - why do you think I don't want a window cleaner?" To his credit he conceded the point.

Had a nice look around Cleeve Abbey at lunchtime. It's very well preserved and well worth a look around.

We then went 200 yards up the road for Sunday lunch at the White Horse - small portions, of course....

I had pork and a couple of pints of local cider.

MrsD had beef and a diet Coke.

Got back home and had to nap it off.

I've removed the Raspberry canes from my fruit cage and cropped a load of Gooseberries.

Apple and Gooseberry crumble next week :hungry:

Got to do a couple of tip runs in the morning as I've got 2 dumpy bags full of garden waste to shift.

Photos definitely bring posts to life.

Hello world. Looks like we are in for a sunny, cooler day and it's fresh after lots of rain yesterday evening. Slept much better last night.

Today will be a ride out with a couple of good friends. 50 - 60 gentle miles, so probably home with a 15mph avg. This morning I have remembered the Sudocreme, my last two rides have been uncomfortable. Long time since I felt that, France 2014 I think. Shows how damn hot its been.

u3a committee meeting this evening. Hopefully a short one.

Who watched Elton last night? I caught the last hour. I've never been a big fan. I could see and hear the huge talent but I was a bit underwhelmed. Thought he would go out with a bigger bang.

Elton - a long, long way past his sell by date.

Used to like him way back in the day and, in another life, I went to see him at the old Wembley stadium when he and Eric Clapton did back to back gigs and both were v.good.

Can't say he ever features on my 'looking back' playlists although I am now prompted to pull up Nikita on Spotify especially as Russia is currently on my mind.

Camper van sold. I'd worked out that with tax, Insurance, maintenance, all the rest of it, we'd need to use it for at least 14 overnight stays a year to break even against the cost of a moderate hotel room. We weren't getting halfway to that so it's gone.

Can't say I'll miss it if I'm honest.

My mate's wife is hell bent on getting one when she finally retires.

He really, really doesn't want one. Not sure how that gets resolved but she has visions of flitting around the country every week taking her 'home' with her, he does not share this dream/nightmare (delete according to perspective).

Personally I can't see the appeal. The sites are not to my taste - I have a friend who owns a v.large one (it is top-end too) and it is horrible in my eyes.

And the facilities inside the MoHo's are so cramped - I have another friend who has a huge beast with 2 gullwing doors at the
back that power up and down for storing 3 bikes per side! And even that has a tiny little shower, tiny cooking facilities and seating that even the worst pub betters.

Each to their own but they hold zero appeal to me.

I used to think about renting a top end one for 3-4 weeks and touring Europe (mainly France) but that never happened. Owning one takes some thinking about as its not just financial logistics.
