It is boring apart from the mountain stages, I love watching those.

Watching a peloton whizzing along for mile after mile is dull, sprints hold no appeal to me nor TT's.

Watching the 6 hour live version on a flat stage can be hilarious as the commentators scramble to talk about something not that the break away has had a 5 minute lead and that will be it until something dramatic happens like the Yellow Jersey stops for a wee

I remember the notes of panic in their voices a few years ago - it was the longest stage of the race, in terms of length and expected time, and there was a bad mountain stage the day before AND tomorrow
A lone ride shot off the front just after km zero and looked back after a minute or so to find no-one had followed him and the rest of the peleton was laughing at him.
He gave a few humorous gestures and got off his bike and applauded them all as they rode past - then jumped back on and caught up again
The whole peloton tootled along happily for the next 180km or so until the final sprint got a bit close

The panic in the commentary box was amazing as they scrambled to "interesting" local history, argiculture, feature, characters haystack and trees.
wonderful
OK OK OK - I watched for a while then went back and watched teh highlights - but I always tape the live version for stuff like this - and the formation of the breakaway is interesting as well.

Do I miss work ? No . I have worked full time since the age of 20 ( part time before that and Military Service).
Do I get bored? Sometimes , yes but it doesn't bother me as I have earned the right to do so.
Do I think I could have done better with my life? Possibly but I was never an ambitious person or driven by money although I wished I had invested in a pension scheme but I manage anyway.
Am I happy in the area I live in? Yes, North Wales is really lovely and I don't envy at all people living in big cities.
Do I like the world we live in now? Not really.
And you?

Every morning I wake up, I have a little smile, I am still here to enjoy life.

Then, I reflect how lucky I am to have been born in Northern Europe, in 1947, missed WW2, missed conscription, lucky, lucky, lucky!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, At the time I did what I thought was right, and what is done is done and can't be undone. I retired in 2015 and it was wonderful, now our circumstances have changed, my Good Lady is no longer mobile and I'm her main carer, all we can do now is make the best of the situation.

Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
I have no regrets about retiring early, 5 years back aged 60.
I have never got bored as I always have something to do. It includes walking the dog, twice every day, so that gets me up and out of bed.
There are plenty of jobs around the house and garden to do, and when there isn't I go out on my bike.
Quite often if we wake up extra early and the weather is ok, we make some sandwiches, a couple of bottles of water, a flask of tea and we head for the coast for the day. The dog also likes the beach.
I have never succumbed to the horrors of daytime telly.

Todays job was fitting the water butt to the downpipe, ok it only took half an hour, but then I went out for an hour on the bike.

Yes, the world has changed and for the worse, but it's no good worrying about things you can't change.
Keep calm and carry on.

Sounds very similar to me. If I could go back, I would probably have concentrated more on the sciences at school and wouldn’t have minded something lab based, not on the shop floor. Not sure what possessed me to join the prison service as I wouldn’t say my personality was particularly suited. Surprised I lasted as long as I did before I couldn’t cope with it any longer and went early.

I’m not the type that needs to be always doing stuff and going places, so don’t mind days doing very little.

Another that thinks the world and this country is on a rapid down slide.

As my waterbutt is now operational, all I need is some rain to check that the diverter valve is diverting the water.😁

Here you go
