I'm unhappy. House insurance is due for renewal this month. Hastings, current insurer, sent a very acceptable price, £6 increase on previous policy.

So my LBS valued my bikes for replacement cost. I phoned Hastings to inform them only to be told they can't offer cover for the value required. The guy pointed out it was a good thing I called as if there was a claim and the bikes were undervalued the claim would be refused.

Now I have to go through all the pain of finding new cover. I didn't want to change. 😪😩

Might be worth looking at the cost of separate cover for the bike - it might be a bit more expensive but it might be better cover

judgement call - but might be worth considering

What a difference an hour makes. Mr WD wanted fish and chips so we went to town. Came back and the sun is shining and it's warm now.

I didn't fancy what he has so I had egg on toast when we came back. I do like egg on toast, and beans on toast. If I was on my own, I'd eat a lot of that sort of thing in the summer and casseroles in the winter.

I had two Brioche rolls.Cheese and home grown sliced spring onions

I'm considering it. I may go back to Hastings and ask for a quote without the bikes. Then look around for bike cover. To date the house insurance has always been the better bet. It's a shame as I had no reason to leave Hastings - a £6 increase seemed very fair.

I've got three weeks cover still so plenty of time to look around.

Poor money management starts young - AFAIK it's not even taught at school.

Obviously far less important than teaching about the Roman Empire or Shakespeares' plays etc.

Agreed.

There have been attempts to introduce a degree of education in this area, although, I am not aware to what extent. I only know because Daughter No2 (a maths teacher) was involved to an extent. If I recall correctly, it was sponsored by Barclays Bank.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Visited my Turkish barber this afternoon for a tidy up - Wimbledon, you know. I was looking a bit unkempt. There was a guy in there doing some maintenance work of some sort.

Picture the scene. I'm very comfortable in the chair. The barber has put a new blade in his cut throat razor. My head is tilted back, the skin around my Adam's Apple stretched a little, the barber is carefully removing unwanted hair from the area.............suddenly there is a bang like a rifle shot........

I jumped............the barber jumped..........I have a tiny nick on my Adam's Apple............fortunate I feel........could have been worse.

That will teach you to question your wife's choice of birthday present for you ;)

I have to have a moan about this!

Wimbledon! OK, I accept some people may be interested, I can even accept that, perhaps, the majority of people are interested, but, why does BBC have to show it on both BBC1 and BBC2 at the same time, disrupting "normal" programs in the process!

I feel better for that ;)
I agree, but it does sometimes TAKE THE SOAPS OFF THE BOX!!!!! :bravo::bravo::bravo:
